BROOKSVILLE — Authorities have found the car belonging to a runaway sexual predator, but are still looking for 60-year-old Larry W. Williams, who disappeared Saturday.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has been looking for Williams, of Brooksville, since authorities say he left his residence at 11811 Broad St., drove to Mondon Hill Road and cut off his ankle monitor before tossing it into a wooded area.
On Wednesday, at an undisclosed location, officials found the 1996 GMC Yukon they believe he had been traveling in, but continue to seek the 6-foot-2, 158-pound Williams. He has also gone by the names Larry Gene Williams and Larry John Williams.
According to records, Williams was on probation after he was convicted on charges of sexual battery of a child in 1999 and 2011.
He is described as having gray hair and blue eyes. Officials are asking anyone with information to call the Sheriff’s Office at (352) 754-6830
