A sexual predator posed as a ride-sharing driver outside a nightclub, and now police are warning people about the danger.
Police said a woman was picked up outside a Main Street bar between 1:45 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Saturday by a man who said he was a Lyft driver.
“We know this person was taken to the area of Red Bank Road and I-71, where the sexual assault occurred,” said Cincinnati police Lt. Steve Saunders.
Saunders said the victim showed up at Police District One to report the crime. Police records say the woman reported the assault at 6:50 a.m.
Lyft Corporate Communications manager Kate Margolis sent WLWT the following statement about the crime:
“The safety of the Lyft community is our top priority and we take any incident of this nature extremely seriously. We are in contact with law enforcement and are working to assist their investigation in any way
