Cops at supermarket on Thursday in bid to snare rapist

Police have stepped up their hunt for a rapist who struck in an Ilkeston residential street.

Officers are holding two street meet events this week so residents can share concerns and give the police information after a woman was attacked in Queens Avenue in the early hours of Sunday, November 26.

Today, officers will be at the Tesco supermarket in Rutland Street between 9am and 2.30pm.

And on Friday they will be at the Post Office in Nottingham Road between 9am and 2.30pm.

On the 26th, the woman got off a bus in Nottingham Road at around 4am and, as she was walking along Queens Avenue, she was approached by a man wearing a hoody who grabbed her and raped her.
