A child rapist who previously served in the military could be on the run in County Durham.
Wayne Domeney failed to appear at Warwick Crown Court last month where he was accused of a string of vile child sexual offences.
The 51-year-old was found guilty in his absence of three counts of sexual assault by penetration, four counts of rape, three counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of causing or inciting a child into sexual activity and intimidating a witness or juror.
A warrant for his arrest has been issued by the judge who has delayed sentencing until Domeney is found.
Warwickshire Police believe that the rapist could be hiding out in the Consett area where he has family members.
