In 1992, the actress was working at a Payless shoe store and was raped at gunpoint. In an interview with Nightline, Union, 44, described how her life was impacted by the assault. “What happened was graphic and violent and life-changing and altering,” she said. “The woman in that back room is dead and I’m the phoenix that rose from the ashes.”
The Being Mary Jane star also revealed that she tried to kill her rapist: “It was literally an out-of-body experience. That me and the me on the ground getting raped became one and I grabbed the gun and I did my best to try and kill him because I really felt I was about to die. So it was either going to be him or me, and it wasn’t going to be me, not on that day.”
We salute Gabrielle Union for telling her story, which
In August, Lane Maurice Davis plead “not guilty” to first degree murder. He’s accused of having stabbed his father to death following a fight with his parents during which he accused them of being “leftists” and “pedophiles.” Davis admitted he stabbed his father, but entered a “not guilty” plea because he insists it wasn’t premeditated.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Davis was recently outed as “Seattle4Truth” — a prolific internet hatemonger who not only posted obsessively on the The_Donald subreddit, but also wrote for the Gamergate hate site The Ralph Retort. You may recall its proprietor Ethan Ralph, from the time he stalked and harassed games developer Brianna Wu, the time Ralph was arrested for assaulting an officer, or at least from the “Law And Order: SVU” episode based on his stalking habits.
Rosie O’Donnell is calling out the hosts of NBC’s Morning Joe for making a “false equivalence” between President Donald Trump and disgraced film executive Harvey Weinstein—one of which she feels is much worse than the other.
On Wednesday morning the 55-year-old comedian tweeted: “hey morning joe – TRUMP is the president – harvey weinstein never was – both are gross sexual predators but its a false equivalence #tvHOSTS.” Her tweet is in response to a comment made by Donny Deutsch, who is not a host but a regular guest on Morning Joe, on Friday.
“Like our president, everything is about [Weinstein]. There are a lot of parallels—I’m not calling our president a sexual predator—but there are a lot of parallels in the psyche of these two guys,” said Deutsch, the former host of the CNBC talk show The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch.
It had been a good night. A bit too good, actually.
She’d had too much to drink, after going out with friends to celebrate a co-worker’s birthday. So she left her car and took a cab home.
On her way to the front door, she dropped her purse, and — just that fast — two teenagers on bicycles sailed past, swooping up the purse with her keys, cash, and cell phone inside.
She shouted at them, demanding her purse back. But the thieves had joined a group of about 20 people gathered outside across the street. Some shouted back. Before long, they were on her. Their punches and kicks kept coming until the police arrived.
That’s where it should have ended.
But her night was about to get much worse.
By morning, she would be sitting, half-naked and bloodied, on a stranger’s stoop in an unfamiliar neighborhood. She would shrink from the Good Samaritan who stopped

On Tuesday night, Jim Jefferies, the host of Comedy Central’s, “The Jim Jefferies Show,” bluntly described disgraced former Hollywood darling Harvey Weinstein as “a sexual predator and a total piece of shit.”
After describing the allegations against Weinstein, including the fact that TMZ reported his contract included a stipulation that he pay women who accused him of sexual harassment or worse, Jefferies condemned Weinstein’s decision to respond by going to sex addiction rehab.
“You don’t go to rehab for sexual assault. You go to prison,” Jefferies said.
He then went on denounce Fox News for hypocrisy, pointing out that the hosts trying to smear Hillary Clinton and the Democrats for their association with Weinstein were ignoring the alleged offenses of Roger Ailes, Bill O’Reilly and
A 37-YEAR-OLD man charged with assault and rape allegedly raped again and killed his victim in the Kunene region on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi confirmed the incident to The Namibian yesterday afternoon.
It is alleged that the suspect and the victim, Theodore Uses (56), were drinking together at the Anker settlement, about 65 kilometres from Kamanjab, before he allegedly raped her and then fatally stabbed her in the neck with an “unknown object”.
There are also claims on social media that he attempted to rape another woman on Monday, and also broke into a home on Monday evening.
These incidents were, however, not confirmed by the police.
The suspect is well-known in the community, and already faces two counts of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, and one count of rape, Shikwambi said.
Court records at Outjo show that the suspect was arrested in February this year when he also made
