The suspect could be in violation of Section 12 of the Sexual Offences Act which states that:
A person including a juristic person who – (a) manufactures or distributes any article that promotes or is intended to promote a sexual offence with a child; or (b) who supplies or displays to a child any article which is intended to be used in the performance of a sexual act with the intention of encouraging or enabling that child to perform such sexual act, is guilty of an offence
The Assertive Girl Zambia (TAGZ) Founder Caroline Lungu has called for stiffer punishments on rape and defilement cases in Zambia.
In an interview with Lusakatimes , Ms. Lungu stressed the need to reinforce current legislative laws to curb such vices across the country by providing tougher punishments on culprits which would send a strong signal to would-be offenders.
And Ms. Lungu revealed that her organization has since embarked on an awareness campaign Programme dubbed “I will not look away awareness walk” to sensitize the masses on gender based violence.
She says Programme will commence on 9th December 2017 in preparation of the sixteen days of gender activism against Gender Based Violence.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A South Florida high school student, accused of rape will not be going back to Monarch High School after prosecutors filed four additional counts of sexual battery in court Tuesday.
The judge then revoked bond and 19-year-old Gibson Sylvain was taken into custody.
His family, who did not speak to the media, left the courtroom in tears.
Sylvain is accused of raping a homeless woman at a bus stop at State Road 7 and Hillsboro Blvd in 2016. He was arrested in August after a DNA match linked him to the crime. Now, he is charged with five counts of sexual battery instead of one – all stemming from the same incident.
“The defendant poses a threat of harm to the community. His crime, what he is charged with, 5 counts to be exact,” said prosecutor Alixandra Buckalew.
