Brandon Cox, of the Somerset section of Franklin Township, will be required to serve 85 percent of the term before he can be released on parole. He will undergo parole supervision for life and must register as a sex offender.
Cox, who prosecutors said has sexually assaulted three female victims in seven years, pleaded guilty in June to kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault in the Feb. 19 attack in Highland Park.
At about 5:30 p.m. that day, Cox approached a 36-year-old woman walking with her 9-month-old son on Harper Avenue and asked for directions, Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Allysa Gambarella said.

Antonio Gaines, 52, pleaded guilty recently to second-degree rape, second-degree sex offense, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree kidnapping, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.
Gaines and several other men kidnapped and sexually assaulted the victim in the 400 block of Caldwell Street on April 23, 1993, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said in April after arresting Gaines in the Scotland County Correctional Center in Eastern North Carolina. Gaines was in prison after being convicted of a 2001 sexual assault.

A terrified woman managed to dial 999 on her mobile phone as she was being sexually assaulted by convicted rapist David Diemer, a court heard.
The woman, who feared she was going to die, spotted her phone lying on the floor at the side of the bed and managed to reach down and dial the emergency number, Gloucester Crown Court was told.
A police 999 operator then heard the woman screaming ‘you’re hurting me, you’re scaring me’ and could also hear the voice of drink and drug crazed Diemer in the background, said prosecutor James Bennett.
Eventually the woman picked up the phone and told the operator what had happened.
As she related what had happened to her she was running from her flat to a neighbour’s home with Diemer following, Mr Bennett said.
Thiruvananthapuram: A self-styled godman, who was bobbitized allegedly by a young woman for sexually abusing her, has aired serious charges against additional-director general of police (ADGP) B. Sandhya.
Swami Gangesananda said Sandhya was aware of the plan to carry out the attack against him. He claimed that his initiative to protect the birth place of social reformer Chattampi Swamikal had sparked the ADGP’s fury.
The swami also alleged that the top police officer has close links to criminal gangs.
