Rewa appeared briefly at the High Court in Auckland today after the Solicitor General sought to remove a stay of prosecution for the murder of Susan Burdett.

Ms Burdett was found raped and bludgeoned to death in her South Auckland home in 1992.

Rewa’s DNA was found at the scene. He was eventually sentenced to 22 years in prison for the rape of 25 women, but two juries could not decide if he was guilty of murdering Ms Burdett and a stay of proceedings was issued.

Instead, Teina Pora was convicted for the crime on the strength of a false confession.

Mr Pora served 22 years in prison for crimes he never committed until his

Howard University Is Keeping A Sexual Predator On Campus, New Court Documents Claim

A Howard University student says she was sexually assaulted by a serial predator who’s been allowed to remain on campus despite multiple reports filed against him, according to new court documents that seek to expand a federal lawsuit filed by several women against the school.

The allegations were made by a woman identified in the court documents as “Jane Doe 6,” who is seeking to join the lawsuit filed against Howard in May by five female students who accused the school of mishandling their reports of sexual assault. Doe 6 says that the man who raped her in April 2016 had previously been accused of sexual violence and reported to Howard University officials. A year after Doe’s accusation, school administrators told her that the same man had allegedly attacked a third woman at the Washington, DC, school, according to court papers, which say that the man remains on campus

Court rejects petition to commit Weymouth child rapist

WEYMOUTH – A superior court judge ruled that a petition by Massachusetts authorities to have a convicted child rapist and kidnapper from Weymouth civilly committed is invalid because he served his most recent sentence in another state.

In June, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s office filed a petition to have Richard Gardner, 50, committed as a sexually dangerous person. Gardner was serving a one-year sentence in Rhode Island for violating the terms of his parole by visiting the Thomas Crane Public Library in Quincy after he was released from prison last year.

Judge Mark Gildea “reluctantly” ruled last week that the petition is invalid because Gardner was a prisoner in Rhode Island at the time.

Gildea stayed the dismissal of his order for 30 days to give Cruz’s office time to appeal “in light of the novelty of this
