WARE, Mass. —
As pedophile former priest Paul Shanley settles into his new home in Ware, 5 Investigates discovers he’s living in a hot spot for high-risk sex offenders, meaning he may have to move if one state lawmaker gets his way.
“Hi Mr. Shanley, how are you?” 5 Investigates’ Mike Beaudet asked him.
“Good,” the former priest answered before shutting the door of his new home in Ware.
The 86-year-old Shanley has kept a low profile since his release from prison in July after serving 12 years for rape and abuse of a child.
Shanley moved onto Pulaski Street in Ware, to a property where two other Level 3 sex offenders live, right across the street from a new dance studio and a school bus stop.
Their landlord is Joel Pentlarge, yet another Level 3 sex offender.
In all, Ware has 19 Level 3 sex offenders living in town.
