Prosecutor says suspect may be ‘serial rapist’

KENT COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kent County Assistant Prosecutor claims that a third woman has come forward accusing suspected rapist Quinn James of also assaulting her.  Her claims are still being investigated.

The announcement came during a preliminary hearing for the suspect that had to be adjourned because the first teen to accuse him failed to appear yesterday. He is currently being held on $500,000 bond in that case.

The second teen to accuse James of a sexual assault, 16-year-old Mujey Dumbuya, has been murdered, her body found dumped along a trail in Kalamazoo. James is reportedly a person of interest in that investigation, but has not been charged.

The no-show Friday prompted the defense attorney to request a lower bond for James.

That was when the Assistant prosecutor revealed that a third woman had come forward and that James may be a serial rapist. The judge denied the motion to reduce bail.

Kasur rapist-murderer sentenced to death in Pakistan

A Pakistani serial killer convicted of rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl Zainab Ansari has been sentenced to death, prosecutors say.

The trial was held in the eastern city Lahore by the country’s special anti-terrorism court on Saturday in the presence of the killer, Mohammad Imran Ali.

Zainab was found dead in a rubbish dump on January 9 in Kasur district near Lahore, in Punjab province, several days after her disappearance.

Imran was arrested two weeks after he committed the crime that ignited nationwide protests.

“I am very thankful to the chief justice; he treated Zainab like his own daughter,” Zainab’s father Amin Ansari told Al Jazeera.

Imran Ali is sentenced to death on four counts but Zainab’s mother deems this as insufficient for the crimes he committed.

“I want him hanged where he threw Zainab’s body. And he should be stoned. Hanging him is just ordinary for him,” Nusrat Amin told Al

Pakistan court sentences child killer, rapist to death

LAHORE, Pakistan (Reuters) – A Pakistani anti-terrorism court on Saturday sentenced a suspected serial killer to death for the rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl, a prosecutor said.

The girl’s murder ignited nationwide protests over allegations of government inaction, and a media campaign led to his arrest after years of him being on the loose.

Police found Zainab Ansari’s body in a garbage dumpster in Kasur district near the eastern city of Lahore in mid-January, four days after she was reported missing.

Residents of the area have said the murder was the 12th such incident in a year. Police investigators said later that they had matched DNA from eight girls’ bodies, including Zainab‘s, with the convicted killer, Imran Ali, 24.

“The court handed down death on four counts and life imprisonment to Imran Ali in the rape and murder of

KALASIN: Police have pressed seven charges against an accused rapist following an assault on a university student and the shooting of her male friend. They have also expanded their investigation as they believe the crime may not have been his first.

The male student is still recovering at Kalasin Hospital, while the female victim has been traumatised. Relatives, friends and university lecturers have been trying to console her.

Thisanu Thonarat, 30, was taken on Saturday for a crime re-enactment along an 80-kilometre route from Somdej district of this northeastern province to neighbouring Sakon Nakhon, where the abduction and rape took place.

Failed bid for ‘dog sex rapist’ to be evaluated

The lawyer representing the 45-year-old man accused of raping a domestic worker before forcing her to perform oral sex on his dogs yesterday failed to convince the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate’s Court that he should be referred for mental observation.

Magistrate Jacob Tsatsi agreed with the state that the defence had failed to demonstrate that the suspect had signs of mental illness, saying psychologist Dr Masase Bake had in fact testified that the accused had no signs of mental illness.

What was also striking, Tsatsi said, was that what the accused told the psychiatrist that he did sleep with the alleged victim as he normally did, was exactly what he told the investigating officer. He said the investigating officer interviewed the suspect and he answered perfectly and made a statement that was read into record, saying what was important was that the investigating officer did not detect any mental incapacity.

“Similarly. the doctor corroborated the

Parole denied for accused 1993 serial rapist who can’t be charged

JACKSON, MI – A Jackson prisoner who cannot be charged in connection with a series of sexual assaults from the 1990s due to statute of limitation restrictions will stay in prison for now.

The Michigan Department of Corrections parole board denied parole for Ozzie Worthey, currently in prison for a felony drunk driving charge, MDOC spokeswoman Holly Kramer said.

He will be eligible for another parole board review in January 2019.

Worthey, 51, is believed to have committed a series of sexual assaults in Jackson in 1993 after police connected DNA evidence from five teenage sexual assault victims to Worthey, according to a statement from one of his alleged victims.

The Citizen Patriot and MLive typically do not publish names of sexual assault or abuse victims.

“I hope the parole board decides to keep him for his maximum sentence on the DUI because I get the feeling that’s the only punishment he will ever

Teenage rapist who struck victim with slab in birthday attack jailed for life

Charlie Pearce researched rape online before carrying out his attack “of animalistic savagery”, in July last year, in Leicester’s Victoria Park.

He denied intending to kill the woman, who is in her 20s, but admitted two counts of rape, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and stealing her handbag.

However, jurors found the “exceptionally dangerous” defendant guilty of attempted murder after he left the victim “hanging by a thread”.

Pearce, of Clarendon Park, Leicester, was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 11 years at the Old Bailey in London.

He was handed seven-and-a-half years’ custody for the rapes to run concurrently alongside his life sentence, with no separate penalty for the remaining charges.

Sentencing the teenager, Mr Justice Haddon-Cave said the defendant had carried out an attack of a sexual or sadistic nature and that he “intended to silence the victim forever”.

“The defendant set out that evening to mark his 17th birthday to

‘Serial rapist,’ or unjustly held in homicide investigation?

KENT COUNTY, MI – A judge refused to lower a $500,000 bond for a man awaiting trial for allegedly sexually assaulting a Kentwood High School student who later turned up dead.

Quinn Anthony James, 42, hasn’t been named as a suspect in the killing of Mujey Dumbaya, 16, whose body was found in a wooded area along North Prairie Avenue in Kalamazoo.

But the day after Dumbaya was positively identified as a homicide victim, James was charged in an unrelated sex case that prosecutors did not pursue in 2014.

His attorney, Jonathan Schildgen, thinks prosecutors filed the latest charge to unfairly hold his client while police investigate the killing. He told a judge that the high bond was “patently unfair.”
