‘Bus Stop Rapist’ Michel Cox to be released from prison in October …

The man who came to be known as the Bus Stop Rapist while Montreal and Laval police worked to discover who was behind a series of sexual assaults on young female victims is scheduled to leave a federal penitentiary at the beginning of October, even though he was evaluated as still having a high risk of reoffending only a year ago.

Michel Cox, 39, has been imprisoned since 2005 after he received an overall 21-year term for having sexually assaulted eight victims over the course of 21 months. When he was sentenced on Oct. 3, 2005, Cox had 18 years left to serve. He will reach his statutory release date, the two-thirds mark of his sentence, on Oct. 2. The Parole Board of Canada is limited to deciding if an offender should have conditions imposed on his release in such situations.

In Cox’s case, the parole board recently decided to impose eight

Rapist who escaped justice for three decades is released after just four years

She waited 30 years for justice, but rape victim Rachel Potter is today coming to terms with the fact that her attacker is once again free.

It took 30 years for the mum to find the courage to reveal that she had been attacked by her uncle, Raymond Daglish, when she was just 10 years old.

But thanks to Rachel’s bravery the rapist, who struck as he babysat his young niece, was convicted and jailed for eight years in 2013.

With Daglish behind bars the victim was able to slowly start rebuilding her life, free from the pain, depression and shame that had haunted her for three decades.

And Rachel, who feared the truth would rip her family apart, found a new confidence comforted by the support of her loved one and the knowledge that 12 complete strangers on a jury believed her.

But what had at first seemed like a long prison sentence for

Pedophile released in WA despite being a “serious danger” to the community

A 67-year-old pedophile who once re-offended while being driven away from prison is being released into the West Australian community, subject to 47 strict conditions under an eight-year supervision order.

The man, whose name is suppressed, committed serious offences against multiple children over a long period of time and was first convicted of unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl aged under 13 years in 1975 when he was 25 years old.

After he had served 12 years behind bars for a string of child sex offences in 2015, he was declared a dangerous sex offender and a continuing detention order was made.

But he is being released after his second review of the order, despite Supreme Court of WA Justice Gail Archer saying he remained a serious danger to the community.

The risk he would commit another serious sexual offence, if not subject to a supervision order, was still high.

But she accepted his psychiatrist’s
